63, passed on from this life on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Rhode Island Hospital. She was born on January 15, 1955 in Pensacola, Florida to the union of Johnnie Lee Owden, Sr. and Margaret Owden. As a teenager, Eva relocated to Providence, Rhode Island from Pensacola and attended Central High School. After graduation, Eva joined the Rhode Island National Guard. She later gained employment with Everett Charles Technologies where she worked for 35 years. Eva had an outgoing spirit and appreciated the simpler things in life. She loved to spend quality time with family and friends, laughing and shooting the breeze. Eva enjoyed walks in the park and capturing all of life's wonderful moments with a camera.
Eva was preceded in death by her son Lenny Jermaine Owden, her parents Johnnie Lee Owden, Sr. (Sarah) and Margaret (Rayvon) Stallworth; Her sisters Mary Louise Lucas, Linda Delorance Haynes, and Gloria Jean Pace; Brothers Napoleon Owden Sr. (Lillie), James Edward Owden, Henry Lee Owden, and John Michael Owden. She was the niece of the late Eva B. Hereford.
Eva leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 39 years John Franklin, son Nathaniel (Latrice) Hatchett of Grovetown, Georgia, and step-daughter Jada Franklin of Providence, RI; three sisters, Jennifer (Roy) Edwards of Providence, RI, Nasharon (Bodee) Spencer and Michelle Owden of Pensacola, Florida; two brothers, Johnnie Lee Owden Jr. and Ricky Reids of Pensacola, Florida; two sister-in-law's, Alberta Hall of Boligee, Alabama and Mary Ann Owden of Providence, RI; a god-daughter, Theresa Baugh of Havre de Grace, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7th from 9 - 11am at the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a service at 11am. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, 1569 Broad St., Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited.
